Boogie in the Barnyard
Time & Location
About the Event
For the third successive year, and based on four previous SOLD OUT events, The Stable Geniuses (thanks Donald for the name) present ‘Boogie in the Barnyard’ at the Lindale Village Barn, this time in the slightly bigger and better-ventilated (and better-smelling) main barn rather than the auditorium. There may be room for dancing ….
A supergroup of Kapiti stalwarts has been assembled as usual - guitarist Andrew London joins bass player Ross McDermott and pianist Wayne Mason to lead the charge - and guests tempted up from Wellington include Neil Billington, probably New Zealand’s premier harmonica player, and drummer Andrew Richardson.
Enjoy the rustic ambience of the Lindale barn; once the home of sheep-shearing demonstrations, now transformed and pressed into service as an intimate concert venue. London leads the Stable Geniuses through a repertoire of blues, swing and country standards and original songs, while incendiary soloists Mason and Billington blister what little paint there is left on the walls.
Anzil cafe caters with a sumptuous meal beforehand and bar service - only $50.00 for dinner and show. Doors open at 6pm and show starts 7.30pm. We are licensed for dancing. Note that dinner will be served at 'shared tables' and there is no guarantee that larger group can be accommodated at the same table.
Tickets can be purchased by debit/credit card (you will not be charged a transaction fee), PayPal or Bank Transfer. See details when you proceed to the Checkout section.
